BUTCHER Robin Skinner served up an award-winning dish to scoop a top award at a North West competition.

Mr Skinner, who is the proprietor of Greenmount Butchers, won gold for his pork and leek sausages at the regional contest held by the Meat and Livestock Commission.

He also won silver awards for his Cumberland pork sausages and dry cured bacon.

He said: "Many entered the competition, so I am really pleased."

Asked whether he would disclose his recipe to readers, Mr Skinner said: "I can't tell you that. All that I can say is that good quality meat is used."
