FARM buildings at Pasture Farm, in Colne, could be turned into houses, if councillors approve the plans tomorrow night.

The Colne and District Committee will be asked to consider the proposal for the conversion of traditional farm buildings, the oldest of which dates from the 19th century or earlier, reached via a track off Skipton Old Road.

Planning officers have been discussing alterations to the design of the buildings and parking provisions with the applicant and hope to have amended plans for the committee by tomorrow.

The owner of the farm took early retirement due to ill health and his first idea of offering some of the buildings for business use was unsuccessful.

Planning officers have recommended that, subject to suitable amended plans, the development should be approved with up to 18 conditions relating to the access and parking, materials, a scheme for the disposal of foul drainage, a detailed record of the building by a professional consultant and provision for owls and bats on site.
