AN ex-soldier who attacked the mother of his child has had sentence adjourned again for him to see a pyschiatrist.

Kevin Catlow, 29, had a "real temper problem," and the effect of the assault on his former partner Helen Robinson had been "devasting," Burnley Crown Court heard.

Recorder David Eccles had already put off sentence once to explore possible alternatives to custody and told the court he simply did not want the defendant to go to jail, come out and do a similar thing all over again.

Catlow, of Windsor Street, Burnley, had earlier admitted unlawful wounding. He was bailed until Nov 8 and the judge told him all sentencing options remained open.
