AN exhibition, which was the culmination of a local history project in Ramsbottom, attracted hundreds of people.

St Paul's School Hall in Crow Lane was set out as a model of the real Crow Lane with a display for each house and building.

Some of the houses had interesting stories and residents gave personal accounts of life in the area. Walking tours were also staged and involved 25 people. Small groups of former residents gathered to swap memories which were captured on audio tape.

The Crow Lane Project Team say they owe a huge debt of gratitude to the residents who have helped with the historical research.

Other people to have helped with the research include Bury Archive, North West Siund Archive, Bury Art Gallery and Museum, Beamish Museum and the Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall Libraries.

Over the next few months all the information from the project will be published ina resource pack in Ramsbottom and on a website :www.ramsbottom-heritage.fsnet.co.uk.

Further information about Crow Lane and its history will be welcome. Contact the project on 01706 281998.
