WHAT a nice gesture by the Liberal-Democrats on Blackburn with Darwen Council to give their increased allowance back to charity (LET, May 20).
I don't see any suggestions from the Labour Party about what to do with their increased allowance, only to pocket it.
I know the council staff have got a rise of this order, but they have had to give up two days' holiday and work a longer week without extra pay. I am just reminding the council leader in case he had forgotten.
