PENDLE Council could take action to remove an advertisement sign which has been put up near the new Fountains development, off Harry Street, Barrowford, without permission.
A retrospective application to retain the sign, which is much larger than what the Advertisement Regulations gives automatic consent to, has been submitted to the council.
It advertises the houses which are currently under construction on the former Victoria Mill site at the end of Harry Street and consists of two boards reaching a height of about six metres.
Planners believe its 'makeshift' scaffolding framework is unacceptable even for a temporary period during construction work.
