A QUAD bike has been seized by police in Burnley as part of their continued crackdown on motorcycle nuisance.
The vehicle, seized in the Kibble Bank area of Burnley last Thursday, is the third taken by police. Two motorbikes, from Kibble Bank and Padiham, have already been seized by officers.
In removing the quad bike, police were exercising a new power which enables them to seize bikes which are causing alarm, distress or annoyance.
They said that the bike was seized by police community support officer, Sian George, as a last resort -- the owners having already received previous verbal and written warnings about his actions.
Sian said: "We have had a number of complaints about motorbike nuisance. Following the first seizure and a number of warnings to other youngsters, the situation easedconsiderably."
Burnley Police pledged to keep up the pressure on motorcyclists causing a nuisance.
