WE OFTEN witness in these pages the problems facing our children and young people today, including abuse and bullying, bereavement and family breakdown, extreme exam stress and truanting.
I wonder if readers realise that this month they have the opportunity to make a difference? The Government is currently reviewing its arrangements for child welfare in schools and we must persuade it to take action.
As part of the FULL STOP campaign, the NSPCC is calling for the funding of independent counselling schemes in every school for all children. I am backing the campaign and have just written to ask the Minister for Education to ensure that every pupil has someone to turn to, to help them with any problems or difficulties they may face.
I would urge fellow readers to give all our children someone to turn to.
