GOAL hero Ian Moore admitted Burnley felt "gutted" following their thrilling 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.

The Clarets twice hit the post before Moore found the target in his 150th appearance to cancel out Kevin Kyle's first half opener for Sunderland.

And Moore believes the Black Cats had all the luck in denying Stan Ternent's troops a hard-earned victory.

Clarets hitman Moore said: "We were gutted in the dressing room because we felt that on chances we should have won the game.

"We had a bad start, but after that we looked like the only team that was going to score the winning goal."

Moore, who had one of his best games in a Burnley shirt, added: "I feel that's as well as I've played all season. Every striker thrives on goals and it was nice to get one out there and cap off my 150th appearance by celebrating it with the great travelling support.

"I had gone six (games) without a goal, but I've only started five games up front this season and I've got six goals now, so I'm quite happy with that."

Burnley's honourable point was again achieved with just four substitutes at Ternent's disposal.

Boss Stan Ternent said: "David May should be singled out for special praise because he was violently ill before the game and got through the match."
