THE "Economy" is a word used to describe "the thrifty and efficient use of available resources" by the Government of the day. A successful Economy is claimed to be this administration's biggest achievement but this is not backed up by the facts.
Much of our spending is via credit cards, resulting in billions of pounds of borrowed money.
We live in a "Benefits" society, which must involve a considerable waste of resources contributed by taxpayers.
This country, which used to be proud of goods "made in Britain", no longer has the required skills, due to companies' collective greed for greater profit.
Funds allocated to education, health etc do not reach the "front line" but are used on increased administration and "red tape".
Billions of pounds have been thrown away on the war in Iraq, which could continue for many years.
The Economy is said to include "low employment". This claim is not reflected in the many able-bodied people of working age to be seen every day on the streets of Bury.
This is not a successful Economy and I want none of it.
