ATHERTON and Tyldesley Round Table's 16th Bent and Bongs Beer Bash is being held at the end of January at the Formby Hall in Atherton.

The 15 events so far have raised over £200,000 for local charities. Last year Francis House Children's Hospice and Atherton Scouts and Guides were main beneficiaries while other local good causes received grants and donations.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice is this year's main charity with support also to Childflight.

The beer festival is open at 6pm-11pm on Thursday, January 27 (admission £4 including Commemorative Glass), Friday, January 28 (5pm - 11pm, £5) and Saturday, January 29 (12pm - 4pm, £3.00 and 7pm - 11pm, £3.50).

CAMRA members are entitled to a £1.00 reduction and OAPs get a £1 reduction on Saturday afternoon.

Every session includes live music and food.

Round Table is an organisation catering for 20 and 45 year-old males who enjoy a drink, sport and unusual activities at the same time as helping the local community.
