Lidl supermarket for Clitheroe approved

FIFTEEN jobs will be created after planners gave the go-ahead for a new Lidl supermarket in Clitheroe.

The budget supermarket will replace a derelict mill and could be built as early as next year.

Changes have been made to the design of the new store on the site of Shawbridge Mill, at the junction of Peel Street and Shawbridge Street, after some concerns were raised by residents.

Clitheroe town centre currently has three supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Booths.

Oh, my, we shall see the 'elite' in Clitheroe feinting in shock at seeing such a place come to town ...! Those unfortunates who have never experienced the reality beyond the mythical boundaries of the now coming down to Earth (joining the rest of the world) Emerald City.

Another supermarket in Clitheroe. Just what they need.The unique shopping centre of Clitheroe has been completely destroyed over the past 5 years. What the hell are the town planners playing at? And Lidl. Wow! Quality!How about a branch of 'Just Wot U Want' or ' Everything for a Pound'? How low do you want to go?

There's nowt wrong with Lidl. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's poor quality.
I'll shop there for some things, Booths for other bits and bobs and Sainsbury's or Tesco's for the rest.
I may also use Asda and Ocado too.

Davidoff is a ribble valley reject, I think he now lives in Darwen, he has a huge hatred to Clitheroe and many times mentions the council offices, something about not paying his Council Tax and them not being very kind to him.
As for Lidl welcome to Clitheroe I am looking forward to doing business with you.
