SNOW showers which returned to Lancashire today are not expected to continue through the next few days.
The Met Office said snow was expected to be limited to isolated and scattered showers over the Pennines.
However, a widespread frost will develop across the region during the night and into tomorrow morning.
The cold and dry weather is expected to continue into tomorrow with bright or sunny spells and light winds but no snow and a maximum temperature of 4 °C.
Forecasters said the chilly weather would last into the weekend, but would not be a return to the big freeze that caused chaos last month.
