For gods sake why doesnt she just realise that he was a little scum bag and that the area is a lot safer without him, if hes kicking off inside what do they do play him soft music and let he smash the place up or assualt people ?. If they had to forcefully restain him he was up to no good and if he hadnt been an idiot he wouldnt have been in their.
If you cant do the time dont do the crime.

I find it quite remarkable how these so called "parents" of these young criminals,suddenly find the time to praise them, and seem so concerned about them, when they are dead. The fact that he ended up in a training centre in the first place, proved a lack of parenting skills to start with.
The fact that he was only 14, and the youngest person to die in custody tells you he was no angel.
You don't end up in custody for not paying your bus fair do you?
Lets have the FULL criminal sentences which had been given to this boy, before we can judge him.
Or would this reduce the chances of the mother claiming any compensation?

I also agree with all the above. I can imagine this so called mother will have loads of support from her 'dosser mates.' They will have plenty of time on their hands to blame other people for what happened to this lad - probably once Jeremy Kyle has finished on tv.

If he hadn't been in there in the first place it wouldn't have happened.

There is a strong and growing swell of support for Adam’s courageous Mother and her family – far more informed and widespread than you appear to think.
The lack of empathy shown in these comments displays a sad and huge ignorance. They say ‘ignorance is bliss’ – and you may all enjoy your blissful lives.
I’ll bet Adam’s family don’t live in ‘bliss’, they are in full command of the facts. They’re showing courage and strength by demanding the truth from a huge corporate profit-making child farm. Why has a High Court Judge ordered a second inquest? Surely you don’t believe ‘because the family asked for one’.
The outcome will reveal the truth and then those of you with decency can come back and say ‘sorry’. AND IF ANY OF YOU ARE ‘SO CALLED’ PARENTS – “SHAME ON YOU!”

I support Adam's mother and so do many other people.

I'm sure that a pretty famous bloke said something about casting the first stone.

Maybe those with less than kind comments could explain to me why a mother who has lost her son while in the care of others, should not be supported in her attempts to find out how it occurred.

How Adam arrived in the institution where he met his death is irrelevant.

Just because someone is 'trouble' or a criminal, does not strip them of their basic human rights.

Can we hear what the victims of the persons crimes have to say? Do any of you lunatics have any feelings for the victims?
Don't you realise the judges are only giving a job to their mates in the legal profession, so we the tax payer, have to pay out for you lunatics to have your say. This women will be on legal aid(money from the tax payer), would she still pay the legal fees if she was not on legal aid? NO.
If the country was run by people like you, nobody would be in jail, they would all be let out. You would soon change your mind if you became a victim of crime then.

Firstly may i thank all the people For their support,and understanding.
This is for all the negative people.

I am adam rickwood`s mum,i really do believe that everybody is entitled to their opinion and comment's.
I would like to point out the fact that not everything you read in the newspapers,or media is actually ALWAYS true or "FACTS" of evidence.

I have never ever,said that adam had not been in trouble with the police.
when adam had done wrong he was penalised by the justice system.
I can also tell you,that the man whom adam had been ACCUSED of wounding,had been to the police station on SEVERAL OCCASIONS to retract his statement,and he was told that the police officer involved who had taken the original statement was on leave,and that no other officer could take a retraction statement from him.
This man had been to the police station several times,only to be told the same thing,he then went to HIS solicitor and explained to he/she what was happening at the police station,and wrote a retraction statement with his solicitor.
I can tell you "all" that it is TRUE FACT OF "EVIDENCE",THAT NO WITNESS INTIMIDATION,HAD EVER TAKEN PLACE,AS THIS WAS THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED BY THE POLICE,AND PROVEN .

So adam was actually locked up in this secure training centre,accused of an offence he DID NOT COMMIT,and untill the police officer who took the original statement,returned to duty,they said nothing could not do anything.

on the day my son was assaulted by at least four prison guard`s adam had done "NOTHING WRONG"
This is what happend!!!
Another young boy whom had already been locked in his cell for being on a "high",had written a note,he banged on his cell window and told adam to go over,when adam went to the boys cell door ,the boy said,give this note to that screw,the boy then pushed a folded piece of paper, under the door, adam bent down and picked it up.
The female prison guard said to adam "give me that" so adam then went to give the note to her,when another boy snatched it from adam`s hand,adam then got the note back off the boy and handed it to the officer.(she gave an order to adam )by saying "give me that"to which adam complied.by giving the note to her,adam then walked away.
After the officer read the note written by boy who was already locked in his cell, (the note was threating her what the boy was going to do to her)
She then went after adam and told him get in your cell!!!adam asked her why?what have i done wrong?
she replied because i said,adam then asked her again what have i done wrong??she again replied because i said!!!
Adam said no i havent done anything wrong,and walked towards a fixed table and bench,the officer then started shouting and grabbed adams arm and tried dragging him,again adam said ive done nothing wrong,what have i done??he then pulled away from her and sat down at the table,she then SHOUTED YOU ARE GOING TO YOURE CELL,IM CALLING FIRST RESPONSE!!
First response is where they press a panic alarm and all the other prison officers recieve this and know where it has came from.
All the officers then go running to assist with the call.

(The reason why there was no other prison officers on the unit/wing was because they had all ran out,to answer a first response call from another unit/wing)
I HAVE GOT THE STATEMENTS FROM THE PRISON OFFICERS WHO RESPONDED TO THE FIRST RESPONSE CALL,AND WHO THEN ASSAULTED ADAM,
IN THE STATEMENTS THESE PRISON OFFICERS, STATE THAT WHEN THEY ARRIVED ADAM WAS SAT DOWN AT A TABLE AND BENCH,THEY SAID "ADAM" WAS NOT BEING AGGRESIVE IN ANY WAY WHAT SO EVER.
THEY SAID THAT ADAM WOULD NOT GO AND GET LOCKED IN THE CELL,AS HE WAS STILL ASKING
WHY HAVE I GOT TO BE LOCKED IN THE CELL??
WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG??

NONE OF THESE MALE OFFICERS HAD ASKED THE FEMALE OFFICER WHAT ADAM HAD DONE WRONG,OR WHY SHE WANTED HIM LOCKED IN THE CELL.
SHE WAS INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE THE UNIT/WING AS SOON AS THEY HAD ARRIVED!!!!!
It is also a fact of EVIDENCE that in the statement from one male prison officer,that he said when the first response alert went out,he set off running to it as fast as he could hoping to get their first,as he knew a
restraint(assault)wo
uld take place and he hoped he could of prevented it from happening!!!

All i can say is i can not and would not stop people from voicing their opinions or comments,but it is very unfair that anyone does this not knowing the truth.i have said in the past and i will say it again,i have got the statements , and if people want they can read them.i would be happy to meet and let you read them,the only thing ,i would have to do is obscure their names.
When the next INQUEST takes place,the PUBLIC WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND,SO WHY NOT ALL ATTEND THEN YOU CAN ALL HEAR FOR YOURSELVES WHAT HAPPEND.

s got to be recorded.this is part of the RULES.
IT just so happend that,the recorder what is used to record these incidents,they said was not working correctly!!!and had only recorded the last forty/sixty seconds of the assault,how convenient that was.
Also the WHOLE PRISON /SECURE TRAINING CENTRE IS FITTED WITH CCTV CAMERAS,EVERY UNIT/ WING IS COVERD BY THESE CCTV CAMERAS.
WHEN THE CCTV EVIDENCE WAS REQUESTED THEY DID NOT PROVIDE THE EVIDENCE AS THEY SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY,AS WHEN THE ""SECURE TRAINING CENTRE MANAGER WENT TO GET THE TAPE AND WATCH IT,IT HAD NOT RECORDED THE UNIT /WING WHEIR THE ASSAULT/RESTRAINT OF ADAM HAD TOOK PLACE!!!!!!!
THEY SAID THE CAMERAS CCTV HAD BEEN BROKEN FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.
THE CORONER ACTUALLY GOT "SONY"TO CARRY OUT INVESTIGATIONS,TO FIND OUT IF WHAT THEY WAS SAYING THAT THE CCTV HAD NOT BEEN WORKING WAS TRUE, SONY ACTUALLY PROVED FROM THEIR INVESTIGATION`S THAT IN FACT THE SYSTEM WAS NOT AND HAD NOT BEEN BROKEN,AND THAT THE CAMERAS COVERING THE UNIT/WING HAD ACTUALLY BEEN MANUALLY SWITCHED OFF!!!!!!
THE POLICE ALSO FOUND ANOTHER TAPE FROM ONE OF THE CAMERAS THAT ACTUALLY SHOWED A DEPUTY MANAGER GOING INTO THE CCTV ROOM TEN/FIFTEEN SECONDS BEFORE THE CAMERA ON ADAM`S UNIT/WING WAS TURNED OFF.

i think its a shame that carol feels she has 2 make all this public like this like i said on other article i hope ur all ashamed writing comments like this if u knew adam even a little surely u dont need 2 know the facts of what occurred that day i personally was shocked that adam of all people would do this and always have thought adam must have been through alot to push him 2 something like this and if it was your child legal aid or not you would fight for justice for them wouldnt we no matter what we had 2 do 2 fund it i also find it very appalling people would be questioning who and where the legal costs are coming from its not like she is claiming travel costs to and from these cases and all the marches shes organised shes giving her life to get justice for adams death !!!!!!!

So now you know (from Adam's Mum's response) that Adam was never put up as an angel but had never done anything to warrant his imprisonment. THERE WAS NO VICTIM in this case apart from Adam himself. So 'yes' I (as one of the 'lunatics') do care about what the victims of crime have to say. Adam's Mum is also a victim of this crime.
And let's hope the Lunatics take over the asylum sooner rather than later.

I’ve been reading these derogatory comments that have been aimed at a grieving family whom I have had the pleasure and pride to have met. The frustration coming from the positive side is fuming while the negative seem to be punching the air.
One of the major problems with our society comes from those with right-wing views – (for others but not themselves).
Adam and his family are not being attacked by good people, the ‘good’ people are beginning to build a wall of protection around them all, which will never be broken by the negatives. There’s one simple reason for this and that is ‘you cannot fight good with evil’.
The legal complexities of this case have challenged our High Court Judges. Adam Rickwood was seriously assaulted by at least four adults. He stood by the rules of the Establishment; his perpetrators did not - that is the nucleus of this case.
I am the film director who shot the documentary film ‘Adam Rickwood & The Medomsley Heroes’ where Adam’s family put forward their case with an honesty that I have not witnessed in all my years of making hard-hitting films and documentaries. This case will be proven in Adam’s favour, I have no doubt about that.
So to all of you who have been attacking this decent grieving family I would simply say wait until you know the outcome before you hang someone; Because that is what happened to this young man. I think that if just one of you apologised to Adam’s Mother and family you would become a hero here.
And always remember, the worst thing that ever happened to Adam, did not occur while he was in the care of his family – that outrageous tragedy happened in the care of strangers who believe they have the right to beat children. Broken bones, in our young offenders institutions and secure care homes are common everyday occurrences. Adam Rickwood’s name will live on forever, the kid has made his mark, he had character, empathy and humour, these are just a few of his many positive traits. And the fact is, every day he gains more friends. I would like to finish by thanking Adam’s Mother for all the good and harrowing work she has been and is involved with against all child abuse “Thank you Carol” – “Thank you Adam”.

So his mother still refuses to recognise that her failures as a parent are responsible for the little scrotte being locked up in the first place. This is the woman who smuggled cigarettes into the secure unit for a 14 year old! Says it all!
