Ramsbottom teenager to star in BBC1 series Paradox

A TEENAGER is set to become a star of the small screen when he appears in a new BBC1 series.

Connor Ryan, 16, spent eight days filming Paradox, a futuristic police drama series which is due to begin broadcasting tonight.

He will appear in the fifth episode as Dylan, a member of a gang involved in gun and street crime.

Connor, of Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom, will appear alongside former Hotel Babylon and Eastenders actress Tamzin Outhwaite and Casualty actor Mark Bonnar.

His proud mum Sheelagh said: “It isn’t a huge role, but it is a significant part. It’s his first television role and he’s really pleased.

“He’s been doing long days and getting involved with all sorts of stunts. He’s loved being on the set.

“I am very proud of Connor and very pleased. This is something he wants to do as a career, so it’s nice for him to be able to get a part in a TV series. We’re hoping for more to come.”

Connor has been acting for several years and has started a performing arts course at Bury College.

He has now had further good news after winning a role in another BBC series.

Since winning the part in Paradox, Connor has also been cast as ‘Jamie Dyer’ in BBC1’s long-running daytime show ‘Doctors’.

He has previously appeared in large productions with Rawtenstall-based Stage Door School for Performing Arts, which he has attended for three years.

His first major role was playing Tottle, leader of the Lost Boys, in Peter Pan at Manchester Opera House over Christmas.
