HEALTH chiefs have responded to residents’ concerns about Burnley General Hospital (BGH) staff parking in their streets.
Last week householders in Fleetwood Road said parking difficulties had escalated since East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust drafted in a private firm to manage a on its car parks.
They urged Lancashire County Council to put pressure on hospital bosses to reduce parking fees, to ease the situation outside their homes.
Kevin Fox, private finance initiative contract manager at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, has now pledged to remind staff of their responsibilities, and said the trust would “be pleased to meet with” the county council.”

But ! on the other hand i understand the reasons why , the staff are a captive market for easy money by the hospital / trust , i know the nurses have something like 90 odd pound a year deducted for parking fees and the day rates are atrocious for staff and of course visitors so we get those parking on here as well , yet we are told that in Scotland and Wales the parking charges are being dropped so why not England ?
