Barnoldslick police call for public backing to shut down 'party houses'

PARTY animals in a Pendle town are being warned they could face losing their homes unless they curb their all-night bashes.

Police in Barnoldswick have been dealing with a number of complaints about anti-social gatherings, causing disturbance for long-suffering neigh-bours.

Now Sergeant Brian Strickland has revealed that Lancashire Constabulary may be considering closure orders for the worst offenders.

And residents in the Rainhall Road area, where the party animals are said to mainly live, are being urged to play their part in cracking down on the late-night nuisance.

Sgt Strickland told a Pendle Council West Craven committee meeting at the Rainhall Centre: “We will be residents about what they want to do about this problem. There are certainly several actions we can take – some criminal actions and some civil actions – but we need to have the help of the community.

“We are speaking to people in individual streets to get their support and we will target those who are offending. We can target some by anti-social behaviour orders, or closure orders, which is a means whereby the occupiers have to leave their home. We are considering this for one property not too far from here.”

Police in Burnley and Pendle have used closure orders previously to tackle anti-social behaviour. But these have mainly revolved around homes used as drug dens. The properties are usually sealed, with the tenants evicted.

Coun David Whipp added: “These parties can lead to criminal activity, especially damage like wing mirrors being knocked off, and not just the noise.”

Hi All.

Yet another example of the police overstepping their mandate.

And the police state is not on its way?
It is already here.

This is when people need to grasp the metal and come together en mass and say 'NO' I don't think so.

Evil triumphs when good people do nothing

I suppose you live right next door to a bunch of scumbags who keep you awake all night and you love it, huh?
The police aren't overstepping their mandate, they're doing exactly what the majority of decent people want them to do, which is come down hard on anti-social behaviour.

Give me the police state every time. Having had the misfortune to have ignorant inconsiderate neighbours I'm happy to see this news.

Keep evicting them until they maybe get the message.

I can see both angles but its a bit of a bugga when you cannot party in your own house , i suppose it will be ok if you can afford to live in a detached.

Hi All.

Once you give the private police force the right to steal your home....well you will be homeless...

Do you think home removal will stop at just noisy but harmless naighbours?

If your grass is 1.4 millimeters too long when they have their nieghbourhood inspections, you lose your house.

Your attitude is exactly the fascist mindset being programmed into you via TV Media.

NLP working very well on the feeble minded.

Well given the fact you nutters want the police state, it will be left to the Americans to demolish this fascist mindset once and for all, because whatever you lot think is going on, the yanks are fast waking to the fact the British Crown is destroying their nation...

I would not like to fight the yanks, but they like me, so I will watch as they deal with your silly philosophy.

I can well understand why the BNP are getting in up north, your all ready made nazis.

You really are an idiot.

Point 1
Have you ever lived next door to someone that keeps you awake all night with constant loud stuff. I think we can all cope with it once in a while....but consistently? Prat.

Point 2
Its "grasp the nettle" you nutcase...not graps the metal. Don't tell me you are dyslexic. You can spell, even though you cannot write sentences.

Point 3
Dont even think about using the "Evil triumphs when good people do nothing" qoute on such a trivial issue. That is an inaccurate quote in the first place. However, more importantly a reference to the growth of Fascism in the 1930s. I think some twerps belting out the decibels in Barnoldswick can hardly be compared to the dark cloud emerging in Europe before WW2.

Have to agree with the comments made about Lifeinthemix's postings. He seems totally detached from reality judging by his incomprehensible, paranoid rants on all sorts of subjects.
The folk living near these 'party house' deserve some peace. No one objects to the odd party but when it goes on week after week we have to draw the line.
As for the quote, I think you will find it dates long before the 1930's and reputed to be a quote from Edmund Burke in the 18th century - ‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’
In other words doing nothing lets the scum take over our towns and society.

Hi All.

The freemasons have ensured they have one of their placemen gangsters not just next door to my good self, but all around were ever I live.

Yes they love music in the early hours while taking copious amounts of cocaine on their window sill, yes they abuse my daughters, they have wrecked my car on several occasions.

But as I have tried to tell you many times, these gangsters work for the police, they create the reason for the legislation.

I am not one to moan though, I like to deal with things myself, not to run off to others to sort out my problems.

I am an old school Englishman not one of the New labour wimpish people.
