AN ACCRINGTON school has been told it will be given one of the Queen’s own pigeons to grace a new pigeon loft, currently being built.
The new royal resident should arrive in April after the Queen’s pigeon loft manager agreed to breed a special squab, or baby pigeon, for Peel Park Primary School.
Children at the school were introduced to the sport by pigeon fancier Terry Slattery, 61, who is the school lollipop man.
