A BOWLS tournament and fun day dedicated to the memory of Rossendale student Sophie Lancaster in Bacup is expected to raise more than £1,200 for the foundation set up in her name.
Andrew Cairns, from Rawtenstall, beat tournament organiser Chris Livesey in the final at Stubbylee Park.
But as Chris was bowling in support of the foundation, he still managed to clinch £200 in prize money for the cause.
Elsewhere Bacup Borough FC boss Brent Peters was bested by Treble-winning football ace David May in a special bowls challenge arranged by Chris.
He said: “When I went down on Saturday the greens were full of water so I was just hoping it would all come off.”
