THREE teenagers have appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting another boy.
The boys, aged 13, 14, and 15, were arrested after a 14-year-old was allegedly attacked after being held against his will in a house in Hapton.
They were each charged with three sexual offences and one count of false imprisonment and appeared before Burnley Magistrates today.
The three, who cannot be named for legal reasons, only spoke to confirm their names and accept conditions of bail during the three-hour hearing.
They were each wearing hooded tops and were watched by their parents from the public gallery.
All the teenagers were released on conditional bail.
They have each been placed on a curfew between 9pm and 7am, must not contact each other, the victim or two witnesses.
The defendants are also banned from entering a Hapton and must reside at addresses specified by the court.
Magistrates adjourned the case until July 24 when the teenagers will again appear at Burnley.
The three boys were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of sexual assault and charged by officers overnight.
There was a considerable police presence, including several vans, in the area after the alleged incident at 6pm on Wednesday.
