CHILDREN at a Sidcup school were celebrating at their Founders Day.
Merton Court School, in Knoll Road, Sidcup, held several events to celebrate its founding 102 years ago.
This year the school chose a balloon theme and launched 300 into the sky. All the balloons were launched with the name and address of the school written on labels. There will be prizes for the ones which get furthest away.
More than 500 parents and children watched the display and enjoyed the other events, such as a teddy bears picnic and a free tuckshop.
Friends of Merton Court Association chairman Karen St Leger said: “Founders Day is all about the school saying thank you to the parents and hopefully they have all enjoyed themselves.”
