A man caught out in a police crackdown on drugs has avoided jail.
Mark Holden asked an undercover officer if he wanted to "score" and sold him a wrap of heroin.
Holden, 38, of Blackburn Road, Darwen, pleaded guilty to a charge of being concerned in drug supplying.
Mr Francis McEntee, prosecuting at Preston Crown Court, said the defendant was arrested as part of Operation Nimrod, in which Lancashire Police targeted low- level supplying of Class A drugs.
Holden was given a community order involving 18 months supervision by the probation service, and 12 months drug rehabilitation.
