Thousands visit exhibits

TEN thousand school pupils will have visited Blackburn Cathedral by the end of the month to take part in events uniting the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths.

Dozens of Lancashire schools have been taking part in an exhibition that looks at the cultural, religious, economic and social complexities in the area.

Central to the events is the exhibition Anne Frank - and You', which includes a reproduction of the Amsterdam attic where the Jewish teenager wrote her world-famous diary, and an associated education programme encouraging inter-faith understanding.

On Sunday Lancashire's Muslim community was invited to the Cathedral to see "one of Blackburn's hidden jewels" on the Christian Feast of Pentecost.

The first week of the exhibition saw some 2,000 people visiting the Cathedral.

The free exhibition is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am-5pm, Saturday 10am-3.15pm, and on Sundays 12.30pm-3.30 pm.
