Drug dealer asked for custody

A DRUG dealer awaiting sentence had his case adjourned, but went into custody at his own request.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Glen Liversidge, 49, knew he would be going to jail and wanted to get his term behind bars started.
Liversidge, of Garden Street, Padiham, had earlier admitted being concerned in the supply of amphetamine, between last November and December.
The court was told the defendant disagreed with the value of the drugs involved. The prosecution would say it was £10,000, but he claimed it was £2,000.
The hearing was adjourned until May 30 and Liversidge was remanded in custody. He is due to face a proceeds of crime hearing at a later date.
His counsel Mark Stuart said Liversidge had put everything in order ready for going into custody.
Mr Stuart said his client had seen his son, who was in the army, the day before and wanted to start the sentence straight away.
