A MAN has been cleared of a "revenge" attack in a Clayton-le-Moors street.

Lance Cronshaw, 21, of Beaconsfield Street, Great Harwood, was found not guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm last October, after a two day trial at Burnley Crown Court. He had denied the charge.

The jury had heard claims the defendant thought alleged victim Sammy Feng had been involved with an earlier incident when he had been glassed at a workingmen's club.

Cronshaw was alleged to have pulled over in his father's van on Whalley Road, got out and punched the alleged victim, knocking out a tooth and causing a gash on his forehead.

The defendant said he had pulled over near a florists to get his mother some flowers. He told police he met Mr Feng by chance, the alleged victim was the aggressor and they had a fight.
