STAFF from St Luke and St Phillip's Primary School, Hancock Street, Blackburn, took part in a 12-mile charity walk in memory of former pupil David Ashton, who died last month.

The brave seven-year-old finally lost his battle with cancer and staff are trying to raise enough money for a plaque to be put up in his memory at the school.

David had been battling with Glioma, a type of primary central nervous system tumour that is commonly found in the brain, since August 2005.
