ISOLATED farm houses and villages have seen a spate of vehicles thefts in recent weeks, police have revealed.
The main target for thieves has been quad bikes and trailers from around the Bowland, Tosside, Newton and Gisburn areas of the Ribble Valley.
During one incident a Bombardier quad bike worth £5,000 was stolen from a farm in Newton.
Sgt Rob Evans, of Clitheroe Police, said: "In some cases thieves are parking their vehicles up to half-a-mile away from farm houses, crossing fields and then making off on the bikes.
"We are urging anyone who sees any suspicious behaviour to give us a call. We would rather go out to a false alarm than not go out at all."
