THE family of a cancer victim have raised £1,176 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and East Lancashire Hospice in her memory.
The event dedicated to Florence Hargreaves, of Little Harwood, Blackburn, was attended by 150 of her friends and relatives, including her three children, five grandchildren, and ten grandchildren.
The party was at St Stephen's Conservative Club, Robinson Street, and the money was raised from an auction, raffles and quizzes.
Blackburn Rovers donated signed footballs and shirts and Stanley House Hotel, Mellor, and the Knowles Arms, Blackburn, gave meal vouchers as prizes.
Mrs Hargreaves was 91 when she died in November after being cared for in her own home, in Queens Road, with help from Marie Curie Cancer Care and the hospice.
Grandaughter Susan Beardsworth, of Sawley Drive, Great Harwood, said: "Our nan was such a lovely lady. She always loved a good party.
"It was very important for her to live out her days at home, and we wanted to thank Marie Curie and the hospice for their help in making it possible."
