Can I offer you a pizza chocolate?

A FORMER Waddington wedding dress maker is enjoying a slice of success - after designing a chocolate pizza.

Sweet-toothed Lisa Kennedy left her job of 15 years creating gowns to launch a successful business venture making high quality chocolate products.

And she recently teamed up with one of the North West's famous culinary names, Paul Heathcote, to launch the exclusive chocolate pizza.

"It's a five-inch chocolate disk covered with four different toppings such as freeze-dried strawberries, pistachios, and candied orange," explained Lisa.

"It comes in its own cardboard box like a pizza, which has been specially designed, and you can even take your leftovers away with you at the end of the night.

"The idea is that a table will share one to have with after-dinner coffee."

The pizzas will be sold in Heathcote's eight Olive Press restaurants from later this month.

Lisa, 37, took the leap into professional chocolate-making after completing a college course, and now runs her own business, CocoMoyo, in Waddington, Clitheroe.

Meaning love of chocolate' in Swahili, CocoMoyo has already built up a fan-base across Lancashire selling hand-made chocolate boxes, eggs and chocolate-dipped fruits - all created using the finest percentage cocoa and high-quality cocoa butter.

Lisa is passionate about good quality chocolate.

"The stuff you buy in shops is full of additives, artificial sweetners and sugar and they sometimes replace cocoa with vegetable fats," she said. "Good quality chocolate is very healthy for you. It's packed with seratonin and has lots of iron in it."

Spreading her love of tasty treats is also keeping Lisa very busy, as she regularly hosts chocolate-tasting parties.

"They're like Ann Summers and Body Shop parties but with chocolate," she said.

"It started out just me and now I have four ladies working for me.

"By the end of May I'm hoping we'll have 20 people to do it all round the country. I'm currently looking for new demonstrators."

"The parties are so much fun. You get to learn all about chocolate, where it comes from and how it's made and also get to taste lots of different chocolates."

CocoMoyo is based at Backridge Farm, Twitter Lane, Waddington. Visit www.cocomoyo.co.uk.
