A LONGRIDGE man who was seriously injured in a car crash that killed his friend told police he could not remember the accident.
The pair had been watching a football match on pub TV in May 2005 when the car became airborne in the "horrendous" accident, Preston Crown Court heard.
Both men were over the drink-drive limit.
And the jury was told they would have to decide who was driving the Vauxhall Astra when it hit a tree and went out of control in Whittingham Road, Longridge.
Stuart Callaghan, 27, of Derby Road, Longridge, denies causing the death of 24-year-old Paul Hayhurst by dangerous driving.
Mark Lamberty, prosecuting, said there was a dispute between experts in the case.
But he said: "The prosecution say it was the defendant driving," he said.
(Proceeding).
