Chorley footballer Michael Barnes has signed for Shrewsbury Town on a month's loan deal from Manchester United where he signed as a teenager.
Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson, said: "He's an exciting player with the sort of pace I think we're lacking a bit.
"He can play wide on the left or right, and if he's what we're looking for we'll try to do a deal in the summer."
Barnes joined Manchester United on schoolboy forms in 2005 but is likely to be released at the end of the season.
He made one first-team appearance, against Crewe in a Carling Cup match.
He had a week-long trial at Scottish Premier league team Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February.
