Tributes to Sameer Vohra

FRIENDS and family of Sameer Vohra, the man who died in a multi-vehicle pile-up on the A59, have been paying tribute to him.
Mr Vohra, 34, of Chorlton Gardens, Blackburn, died after the collision involving three vehicles close to the Myerscough Hotel, Samlesbury, just before 1.30pm on Thursday, March 27.
Born in Ormskirk, Mr Vohra grew up in Blackburn and was well known in the area, where he worked as a car salesman.
Hundreds of mourners attended his funeral at Pleasington Cemetery on Saturday morning.
Mr Vohra, of Chorlton Gardens, had three daughters and a son, aged between three and 10, and was the oldest of three brothers and a sister.
His family paid tribute to him as "a fantastic person".
His brother, who did not want to be named, said: "We have lost someone we really love and we will cherish his memory for the rest of our lives.
"Everyone in the community knew him and he was well-loved and respected."

Sameer was in Jamat with me back in '91 - a joker, and an allround jack-the-lad.
There's no escaping he had his issues over the years, but one thing was for sure - whenever his gaze met someone he was familiar with, a most fantastic beam of a smile shone on his face!

first of all please read darood sharif for sameer and all the ummah of our prophet(pbuh) who have passed into the hereafter.
only allah knows why his time came to an end on this earth, but i read all the comments above and mashallah he was a well respected and true friend to a lot of you, and this is a test for you all,not just his family, one cannot imagine thier position but we pray allah gives all his friend and family sabaar at this difficult time. in a recent article i read in an islamic book it stated that death is a gift from allah(swt), it is the time for them to go and live in jannat, something we all hope to do, the only thing we can do is pray that allah(swt) forgives his sins and gives him the highest place in the hereafter.
our thoughts and prayers also go out to all the others affected by this incident.

Its very sad when you lose someone who you know and see around everyday, smiling and happy. Its a very sad loss of life, when he was so young and had a whole a life in front of him. RIP.

As for all these people who show no respect o remorse for a person who has passed away, i think u should all ask god not to giv u a painfull death, when a person passes away u shud realise that one day everyone is goin to go, in this world people need to stop all this nonsense fighting, arguin, racism, facism etc if everyone got on the world wud be such a happier place.
It easy for people writin stupid msgs on comments pages but ask urself one question wat if this happend to u wat wud u like it, my moto is treat people how u would like to be treated, who are we to judge wat happened wen wernt there, you are all forgettin the reason theres a comments box on this page.

Was with Sammy at Yankies house on Revidge just a cpl a dayz ago paying respects to yanks dad who passed away.
Remenba them talking & saying that life was short n i respected the way they talked, Sammy had alot of Respect & love for all, including me even though im a white christian chap.

I have been reading the comments made by people the whole day all i have seen is racism going on why cant people just pay there respects than blaming each other and stop this racism going on, the whole purpose of this comment boxes are to pay your condolances and figure out how you are going to make this roads safer rathar than slaging each other off. From what i Could see there are so many low life people down north side who haven't got anything better to do but slag someone off who has past away. Let this tragic death of a muslim brother be a reminder to everyone that our time will be up soon too. Its truly a scary though, we plan 20, 30 yrs ahead, but the truth is that there isn't even a guarantee whether we will live from one salah (obligatory prayer) to another.
Lets all stop committing sins and do lots of good to please our creator and inshallah (god willing) we will be amongst the winners on the DAY OF JUDGMENT. The only reason you are in this world is so he can see how obedient you are to him - by engaging in good, you will be rewarded in this world and the hereafter. Lets all start praying more namaaz, drop our bad deeds that we do, nobody might be watching us but the one above certainly is. When we get paid, lets all give some money towards charity to the poor (watch how your packet gets so much barkat / blessing), lets all stop backbiting and lets be obedient towards our parents. Allah will truly love you for it and he will do so much for you in return (inshallah)
Do dua for me also as I am very weak myself.
I also make dua (prayer) for all the non muslim brothers and sisters that you too see the light. I do have alot of kind hearted non muslim friends and I do worry about them also. Please take some time to read Holy Quran (its seriously full of wisdom) and look beyond this negative image the west and media has created about this beautiful religion, which without there is no success in the hereafter, there truly isn't. :(
May Allah forgive the sins of the deceased, open the fresh garden doors of paradise in his grave, may he also accept the 'janazzah namaz' (the congregational prayer at burial) and accept the duas of all we have made and are continuously making for him. Ameen
His smile will most definatly be missed and may Allah make it easy for the Vora family and friends to cope with this horrific tragedy. Ameen

Prayers for the Dead
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, There is no person who has died and who has Muslims whose number reach one hundred praying for him and they intercede on his behalf, except that it will be accepted. (Muslim)
The dead will feel the presence of his brothers after his burial for a period of time no longer than it takes to slaughter a lamb and distribute its meat.
The meaning of the above statement by Amr bin Al-Aas has preceded: After you have buried me, sit around my grave
for a period of time no longer then it takes to slaughter a lamb and distribute its meat, so that I feel your presence, and see what I will review with the Angels of my Lord.

Supplications for the Deceased Immediately after Burial
Related from Uthman bin Affan that whenever the Messenger of Allah completed the burial of a deceased he would stand over him and say, Seek forgiveness for your brother, and ask that he be firm because he is now being questioned. (Abu Dawud)
Continuing Charity
The Messenger of Allah said, When anyone dies all his actions cease except in three cases, continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a pious child that makes supplications for him.

It is related from Aisha (RA) that a man said to the Prophet,
My mother died all of a sudden. I think if she was able to talk she would give charity, so would she receive any reward if I gave charity on her behalf? He replied, Yes. (Bukhari/Muslim)
Supplications and seeking Forgiveness
by all the other Muslims and Believers
The Messenger of Allah said, Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and women, Allah will write him a blessing for each believing man and woman. (Saheeh al-Jaami)
Death is an inevitable journey, which we will all face alone. All worldly attachments will be left behind and only our belief, righteous actions and worship will be of any use. Therefore we should remember death frequently and fear Allah. The Messenger of Allah said, At evening, do not expect to live till morning, at morning do not expect to live till evening. Take from your health for your illness and from your life for your death.

One of the first stages of life after death is the grave, as confirmed by the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah who said, The grave is the first stop from among the stops to the Hereafter, and if one successfully passes through it, then whatever follows it is easier. If however, one does not successfully pass through it then whatever comes after it is more difficult. (Saheeh at-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb)

when you come down to blackburn house and my house i cant write my address here on the computer but tell your mum we are also very upset that you're dad is no more we pray for him in every namaaz that he is awarded jannat he always wanted you all to be a family especially his last four weeks he could'nt stop thinking about you all
