THE daughter of Donald Campbell will be in Nelson today to mark the completion of the first stage of work to rebuild the Bluebird.
Gina Campbell will visit PDS Engineering, Cliffe Street, Nelson, which has completed work on the chassis of the jet powered boat.
The boat was destroyed in an accident on Lake Coniston as Campbell was trying to break his own water speed record of 298mph in 1967.
An amateur diver discovered the wreck in 2001 and work has since been underway to restore it to its former glory.
The chassis will now be moved to the north east where the rest of the restoration work will be completed.
