Bradley Dack was delighted to be involved in Rovers' Carlisle cup win, believing it can give him and the team momentum to take in to the league.

Dack scored twice, and created both of Adam Armstrong's goals in a 5-1 win at Brunton Park.

Boss Tony Mowbray made just four changes from the side which drew 0-0 with Millwall, with Dack a surprise inclusion.

But the 24-year-old said: “The gaffer told me I was playing on Monday and I really enjoyed it.

“It was nice to play the 90 minutes and get them under the belt and I feel good.

“I like to play in every game because you keep your momentum going and scoring the goals is a good confidence boost. It was nice to come here and win convincingly.

“There were a few things in the first half that didn’t go to plan. We conceded way too many shots which the gaffer said to us at half-time.

“But attacking wise I thought we were brilliant and we should have scored more.”

Rovers led inside 90 seconds as Armstrong finished off a fine move.

Dack made it 2-0 after just six minutes, before Carlisle hit back midway through the half.

And the attacker added: “It was a great start, a great finish from Arma and then a mistake from their keeper for my first one.”

“We were massively on top at that point, then a goal came out of nothing, a great finish from the boy, and after that we lost our rhythm and they were on top for the next 10 minutes.

“When we got the third I thought we controlled the game from then on.”

Dack was denied a first hat-trick of his career in the closing stages, seeing effort hit the crossbar and anotter well saved.

“I’m a bit gutted on a personal note. It just wasn’t meant to be.

“I think the gaffer left me on to try and get it but I couldn’t quite manage it.”

“Their keeper made a great save from two shots, one hit the bar, but we are delighted to come away with the win.”
