A FORMER 'Clog Shop' could be knocked down to provide a new cottage for a farmer's parents.

John Bradley of Farm House Farm in Burnley Road, Altham, has applied to Hyndburn Council for permission to demolish the premises, now an office and store, next to the main house on the agricultural premises.

He and his wife currently live in a caravan and his mother and father in the farmhouse.

If granted planning permission, Mr Bradley would knockdown the partially-collapsed clog shop and adjacent former cottage building.

This would be replaced by new a two-storey farm cottage with full disabled access from the mian yard comprising a lounge, dining kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms.

If the scheme goes ahead, Mr Bradley and his wife would move into the farmhouse and his parents would relocate into the new cottage and the caravan would be removed.

Mr Bradley's agent Alan Cross said in the planning application documents: "The materials used will match the existing farm house.

"The proposed design will reflect the building style in the area."
