A SCIENCE fiction thriller will be screened in a town centre venue.
Steven Spielberg brings to life the science fiction action adventure Ready Player One, based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.
The film, starring Simon Pegg and Ben Mendelsohn, is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse.
Orphaned teenager Wade Watts discovers clues to a hidden game within the program that promises the winner full ownership of it.
The movie, which was first released in March earlier this year, grossed $137 million in the United States and Canada, and $445 million in other territories.
The screening will be held in Darwen Library Theatre, on Knott Street, from 2pm on August 23. The movie is only suitable for children aged over 12 and tickets will cost £5 for each.
