A MILL has caught fire near Rishton.
Emergency services were called to a fire involving a derelict mill on Hermitage Street at around 8pm.
Fire service crews said piles of rubbish had caught fire on the first floor of the old paper mill in Rishton.
No-one has been reported injured and enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
Police officers have put up a temporary road closure on the A678 from Dunkenhalgh Way to Rishton. Drivers have been urged to avoid this route.
A police spokesman said: "We have got patrols on the scene after a disused mill caught fire.
"The fire seems to be under control but some of the roads have been closed as a precautionary measure."
