A WOMAN was subjected to vile racist abuse while shopping in Lidl, police have said.
Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the unprovoked verbal attack which happened in Nelson.
PC Justin Limb said: “We want to speak to the man in the CCTV after a woman was subjected to vile racist abuse whilst she was out shopping by herself in Nelson.
“It happened, without any provocation, in Lidl on the afternoon of Saturday, July 7.
“Everyone should be able to go about their daily business without being abused because of their race and we are taking this incident seriously, as we do with all forms of hate crime. We believe the man in the CCTV will have information which could help our investigation.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101 or email 4454@lancashire.pnn.police.uk, , quoting log reference EG1806198.
