A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of murdering her new-born baby girl.
Rachel Julie Tunstill, 27, appeared over video link at Preston Crown Court from Style Prison, and spoke to confirm her name, enter her not guilty plea to a single count of murder and to confirm that she understood what was happening.
The case related to the death of baby Mia Kelly who was found in a wheelie bin in Wellington Court, Burnley, on January 16, 2017. A post-mortem revealed the tot died from multiple stab wounds.
Tunstill, a UCLAN graduate, was remanded in custody to face trial at Liverpool Crown Court on December 12.
The trial, which will be heard in front of High Court Judge Mr Justice Timothy King, is expected to last for seven days.
