A FOOTBALL charity has been shortlisted for a prestigious global award.
Burnley FC in the Community has announced it is one of only 35 projects to be officially shortlisted by Beyond Sport for its prestigious Global Awards.
The shortlist recognises the 'standout' work of organisations from around the world who are creating positive social impact through sport in exciting, innovative and inspiring ways.
Nominated in the Sport for Sustainable Cities and Communities category, Burnley FC’s official charity has been selected from over 400 applications from 100 different countries.
Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Burnley FC in the Community said: “We’re absolutely thrilled. A huge thanks to each and every person who has been a champion of our work over these past few years."
The 10th annual Beyond Sport Global Awards will be held on September at the One World Observatory in New York.
