A COUNCIL will consider adopting the final modified version of the borough's local plan.

The plan, which sets out policies to guide the amount, location and quality of development, has been subject to a 'rigorous' examination by an independent planning inspector.

A series of changes have been made including lowering the amount of employment land required and removing a traveller site at Oswald Street.

Council leader Mark Townsend said: "The plan is a careful balance of different objectives that will still deliver the growth this borough needs."

A decision will be made during the local authority's full council meeting at Burnley Town Hall tomorrow from 6.30pm.
