A MAN assaulted his ex-partner when he went on a mission to recover his sister's mobile phone.
Blackburn magistrates heard Azeem Pervaiz and his sister used tracking technology to trace the phone to stand 8 at Accrington bus station and Pervaiz went to recover it.
During the confrontation with his ex he slapped her across the face and having recovered his sister's phone took her phone to stop her calling the police.
Pervaiz, 24, of Rawson Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assault. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
Peter King, defending, said the aggrieved had been in possession of his client's sister's phone for some time without permission.
"Using the tracking application they found the phone and he went to recover it," said Mr King. "He accepts that when she refused to give it back he slapped her. He knows that was wrong."
