A MAN was taken to hospital after crashing a car he was driving into a lamppost.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, escaped with no injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution, following the crash.
It happened shortly after midnight in Preston New Road, Blackburn, on Wednesday.
Eyewitness Santino Dipalma said he saw a dark blue Volkswagen Golf 'upside down.'
He said: "I was on my way to Blackburn from Preston when I saw the crash.
"A dark blue Volkswagen Golf was upside down.
"There were no emergency services when I first saw the crash but later on there were multiple officers and an ambulance.
"I saw a fire engine heading towards the scene also."
A police spokesman said: We were called to reports of a car overturned.
"It had crashed into a lamppost.
"There were no injuries.
"A man in his 20s who was driving was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital as a precaution."
An Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they sent an ambulance to the scene and that someone was taken to hospital.
