I’m writing in response to a letter written by a Mr Orrell and published by yourselves on Friday 20th July 2018.

This letter sought to convey the writer's dislike at the new Blackburn Rovers kit.

The writer made several unsubstantiated remarks about the club pandering to a new sponsor when in fact the kit will have been decided on nearly a year before the sponsorship was agreed.

I for one would like to see a balanced view published.

I very much like the new Blackburn Rovers kit and think it harks back to the kits of the early 90s.

I agree it is different and people often don’t like change but it's not as if we’ve changed to a completely new colour scheme (a la Cardiff a few seasons ago).

It's a modern looking sports kit. Many teams vary the shades of their colour schemes.

I know that a lot of planning goes into the look of the kit by both the manufacturer and the club and by varying it slightly from season to season it means we don't end up with a wardrobe full of identical kits.

I enjoy watching my beloved Blackburn Rovers and have done religiously through thick and thin and that enjoyment certainly won't be hampered by the kit being a paler shade of blue.

So I suggest that if Mr Orrell can’t enjoy watching his team anymore due to the clothes they are wearing he would be better suited to attending a fashion show.

I for one will be there at the first game of the season and every match I am able cheering on the team. Come on Rovers. Come on Tony's (pale) Blue and White Army!
