Blackburn Magistrates Court
A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with historic sex offences including rape of a woman and indecent assault of a 14-year-old boy.
John Edward Ellison, 63, of Walton Road, Portsmouth, is charged with raping the woman in Hereford in 1999 and attempting to strangle her to enable him to commit an offence of rape in Wormbridge, also in 1999.
The indecent assaults and gross indecency with the 14-year-old boy go back to 1967 and are alleged to have been committed in Turton, near Blackburn.
Ellison was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on August 20.
