A MAN jumped off the stairs and headbutted his 6ft 5in 20-stone son during a drink-fuelled row.
Blackburn magistrates heard the 22 year old victim was then grabbed in a head lock as father and son wrestled with each other.
Brian Andrew Stott, 43, of Cog Lane, Burnley, pleaded guilty to assaulting David Stott. He was made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 7am for four weeks and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
Rachael Parker, prosecuting, said a family row broke out after they had all been to the pub.
"David Stott shouted at his dad to leave and his response was to run down the stairs and head butt his son," said Miss Parker.
"He then grabbed him by the head and tried to punch him but they separated by other members of the family."
Simon Farnsworth said the son was 6 ft 5 inches tall and weighs 20 stones and had a bad temper.
"My client is much shorter and as he came down the stairs they met resulting in the head butt which caused the injury," said Mr Farnsworth.
"It was not a flying head butt."
