Chief Executive Steve Waggott has welcomed ‘forward thinking’ 10Bet as the club’s new principal shirt sponsor.

The online sports betting firm have agreed a three-year deal which is set to be worth a seven-figure sum to Rovers.

10Bet, who have replaced Dafabet as the principal sponsor following the expiry of their three-year deal, will see their brand on the front of the club’s home and away shirts until 2021.

And Waggott admits the club’s return to the Championship has opened many more commercial doors to the club.

“We are delighted to welcome 10Bet on board as the club’s principal sponsor,” he said.

“It is great to partner with a forward-thinking brand which, like ourselves, has ambitious targets over the coming years.

“We had a few interested parties and we whittled it down a bit.

“They are an ambitious brand and with the juncture of the club I think it works well.

“On a three-year deal, should we stay in the Championship then it will be a seven figure deal.

“If we go up, it will become a much bigger number.”

The new Rovers home shirt went on sale yesterday and will be worn for the first time in tonight’s friendly with Liverpool.

And Waggott is keen to use the momentum brought about by last season’s promotion to push the club forward both on and off the pitch.

He added: “Your whole TV revenue, Premier League solidarity payments, they increase by about £5million so you have all that coming in.

“Your commercial revenue bargaining power with partners and sponsors goes up a notch as well.

“Hopefully, we’re expecting bigger crowds, you want your hardcore season ticket holders and others to come back.

“Then you have the away supporters going up so much in terms of volume from League One that pushes up all the commercials.

“I’m looking at not quite double, but as close as we can to doubling the revenue to what we did last year.”

Daniel Corcos, 10Bet Marketing Director, added: “Blackburn Rovers are an iconic English club with a large and passionate fanbase and represent a superb fit for our growing UK brand.

“We’re lining up a wide range of events and initiatives to engage directly with the club’s supporters and the local community, and look forward to supporting Blackburn Rovers on their way back to the Premier League.”
