A TOWER walk has been postponed amid safety concerns over the moorland fires.
Work at Over Darwen House have been preparing to film a documentary about the history of the 120-year-old Darwen Tower, which would include a community walk up to the tower.
However due to the moorland fires at Winter Hill and the heatwave over the last two weeks the tower walk has been postponed for safety reasons.
A spokesman for Work at Over Darwen House said: "We really want this event to happen but after discussions with officials it has been decided that the moors are far too vulnerable to welcome 1000’s of people at once (for the walk) until there has been some rain.
"We promise to keep you updated and hope you’ll keep an eye out for the new date."
