A PROUD England fan from Blackburn has spoken of his delight as he watched England win their first world cup penalty shootout from the stadium in Russia.
Paul Clegg, 54, jumped off his seat in the Otkritie Arena in Moscow when Eric Dier put away England's winning penalty.
The dad-of-two said: "What a night, I am physically and emotionally drained.
"We were massively out numbered in the stadium there were Colombians everywhere.
"I had a hour journey on the metro back to my hotel at 1am, on my own, feeling 10 foot tall and eight foot wide and a smile on my face just as wide.
"Russians fans were shaking my hand and patting my back and making sure I was getting correct trains, I tip my hat to them all.
"I was a nervous wreck to the point were I was feeling physically sick.
"I was going to leave the stadium after 120 minutes as England are usually so bad at penalties.
"I'm so glad I didn't as I managed to witness a piece of history.
"Now we move onto Samara to face Sweden, I believe we can do it."
