BUSINESSES bosses have banded together to create a Business Improvement District (BID) in a town.
Following a four-week ballot, 87 out of 117 businesses voted for the creation of a Colne BID.
This means they can raise their own funds to strengthen the town’s economy. The BID work programme will be implemented on Monday, October 1 and will run for five years.
Grahame Wharton, chair of Colne Town Centre Forum, said: “Creating a Business Improvement District is great news for the town and means we can bring funding into Colne and invest it where it will make a real difference."
